coach SAMARA KERR

Coach Samara relocated to the North Coast of NSW from Melbourne and is teaching at Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School in Tweed Heads.

Samara grew up playing basketball in the Victorian State Program & National system which led to the opportunity to further her game at Newberry College in South Carolina (NCAAII).

Coach Samara then returned home to play a season of NBL1 with Sandringham Sabres, before returning to her home club with the Frankston Blues for 3 seasons.

Coach Samara has observed the restrictions athletes face on the North Coast with access to venues and frequent high-level training.

Now as a coach, Samara has a passion for developing fundamental skills as well as the non-tangible skills such as leadership, resilience and growth mindset. Her goal is to raise the standard of basketball in the region and help mentor players wanting to take their game to the next level.

Coach Samara will be coaching the North Coast Basketball 16U Girls & 12U Girls at the NSW AAU ‘Spring Harbour Hoopfest’ in Coffs Harbour Next Weekend. We are very excited to have Samara on our Coaching team and are grateful to have her lead our female AAU athletes.

Coach Samara is one of our Head Coaches at our Northern Rivers Elite AAU Training and Trials during Term 4.

There are only 2 sessions remaining during Term 4:
- Saturday 29th November 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Ballina Indoor Sports Centre
- Saturday 13th December 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Ballina Indoor Sports Centre
